Exhibitor Rules:

1. North Star Points Series (NSPS) is going to award exhibitors that accumulate the most points throughout the year. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the point series season. The series will run from the 1st sanctioned show to the last sanctioned show; both of which will be determined on a year to year basis based on participation.

2. In order to earn points, exhibitors must be a paid member of the North Star Points Series. Points will not be accumulated until membership is paid. Any shows attended prior to paid membership will not count towards total calculation of points.

3. All Registered cattle must be a part of their respective breed association and conform to their MN Breed Association rules for registration.

4. Membership dues $40.00 per Jr. Exhibitor and $10.00 per animal. All entries MUST include a copy of their registration papers- if registered. Any registered animal that doesn’t submit a registration paper will be calculated as a crossbred.

5. Exhibitor age requirements will follow the Jr. National rules of their respected breeds. When breed rules do not apply, age requirement will be 6-21 as of the current year. (examples: crossbred steers, Commercial breeding heifers and market heifers)

6. In order for points to be received, cattle must be owned, entered, and shown by the Jr. Exhibitor entered in the show.

7. All exhibitors must have a Minnesota address to join the North Star Points Series.

8. Breeding Heifers must be born prior to 12-31-2023. Market animals must be born in 2023.

9. To be recognized in the Bred & Owned division the registration papers must follow the breed association’s rules.

10. The same animal cannot be shown as a market animal and a breeding animal at the same show.

11. ANY unsportsmanlike conduct or misrepresentation from a NSPS exhibitor or family member/guardian will NOT be tolerated. If an offense is committed the exhibitor will be disqualified and stripped of all points!

12. Dress code – Exhibitors must exhibit in respective attire and must follow each specific show guidelines. Please see a committee member if you have any questions.

13. Exhibitors must compete in at least 3 shows in order to qualify for year-end awards.

14. The use of hemp hair, removed hair, or any like materials added to an animal’s body will not be allowed. Filling by the use of pumps, bottles, or drenching will not be allowed. If any of these offenses are violated the exhibitors will be disqualified and stripped of all their points for the day.
